Choosing a therapist is one of life’s important decisions. Who are you comfortable with? What do you need? Do they fit with you? Is their energy right? What are their qualifications?
I offer these words to help you know me better, and to help you decide if you want to work with me. I am a profound believer in psychotherapy and also in modern medicine. There is nothing in my practice which should ever lead a client away from doctors or licensed healthcare professionals. My work is complementary, never instead of.
I believe in magic. I believe in the Spirit World. I am a practicing Witch. Both sides of my family have a history of practice going back generations. My 12th great grandmother was the last woman in the United States to be executed as a witch.
Education
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (Semiotics) with an emphasis on Women’s Studies from Brown University, in Providence. Rhode Island. I earned an MBA at INSEAD in France. My corporate career began in Marketing and led me to turnarounds in the Private Equity industry.
I became a CEO for the first time at the age of 32, a divisional CEO of a listed company for the first time at the age of 33, and a turnaround specialist for the following two decades. I felt a calling for a more earth-bound and spiritual pursuit.
Re-Education
This journey began with rekindling and formalising lifelong passions. I trained as a Medical Herbalist with Cornell University. I trained as a Nutritionist with Stanford. Both in continuing education.
I also trained as a somatic therapist for four years in Berkeley, California; in Italy; and in England. I have been practicing as a Reiki Master for the past three years in Usui, Holy Fire®, and Karuna® Reiki.
Two Spirit
I am a trans woman. I was born this way. At the age of 57 I brought my body into alignment with my psyche and underwent a sex change operation in San Francisco, California. It has been a transformational experience, and has opened the floodgates of my spiritual side.
What Else
I am on the Board of Directors of a charitable organisation working with teen girls in Muslim countries. We focus on issues such as menstrual health, hygiene ending forced marriage, and girl’s education in Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. In serendipitous symmetry, my career in marketing fresh out of college was as a brand manager for menstrual products.
I have also begun to connect a life passion of horses with my therapeutic practice. This is a journey which is unfolding, and will find its way into practice with time. Equine therapy has many parallels to my practice.
